Airport Operations

As Project Manager for the City of Waynesboro, I was responsible for overseeing airport operations and improvements. The city was an annual recipient of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant funds, which I managed to ensure proper use and accountability. My duties included overseeing major projects such as installing new perimeter fencing, maintaining clear fence lines, paving and seal-coating the apron, taxiway, and tie-down areas, installing a new jet fuel pump, constructing a new hangar, and building concrete pads for hangar sites. I also managed runway paving and striping, the installation of new wind socks and lighting beacons, and the implementation of a GPS aviation system for aircraft landings.

In addition to major projects, I ensured that routine maintenance of the facility and grounds was consistently performed. My responsibilities also included recording plane landings, tracking airport visitation, and documenting usage by aviation chemical companies for takeoffs, landings, and storage. Overall, I successfully managed more than $1 million in improvements, significantly enhancing airport operations and infrastructure.
